Building the three.dev brand

Round3 builds a developer-first stack for self-owned AI, helping teams keep data secure and speed up development. Their first product, three.dev, is designed to improve developers' workflows.
I crafted a brand identity that translates this mission into a visual system rooted in precision and modular possibility. The creative concept merges technical rigor with approachability, ensuring the brand resonates uniquely with builders and signals ability for future growth.

Scope
BRANDING

Early explorations tested how far the brand personality could stretch. Bitmap-inspired geometry pushed into technical, structured territory while softer, even hand-written approaches pulled the other way, lending warmth and approachability to what could otherwise read as cold infrastructure. Typographic-only marks were also explored, each probing a different balance of rigor and accessibility.

The concept centers on building blocks, foundational elements that enable a spectrum of specialized solutions.

Geometric shapes, grid systems and modular forms create a look that is both friendly and reliable. The logo combines a custom lowercase wordmark and a modular three, tying back to the building-block theme. The color palette is mostly grayscale for a clean base, with neon accents to add energy.

The identity is flexible. The wordmark and symbol can be used together or separately, as needed. Once three.dev is established, different versions of the main mark can work as standalone graphics. All logo versions are optically adjusted for dark backgrounds, so they look balanced across all applications.
